WIW: To the community ballet

Went to see the community ballet do its thing. Mask mandates have ended, but you had to wear a mask, show your vaccination card, and the seating was social distanced. Someone found an old ballet at the Paris opera or something that they restaged - a sorcerer floats around the sea on a porcelain island turning trespassers into porcelain dolls. An amusing premise! There were men in suits, which was quite lovely to see and one statuesque lady in a standout sweeping, engine red patterned coat dress. I wore these old booties, because so little chance to wear them these days. Dressing crazy like always :)

This looks like the perfect ballet outfit.  Especially like how the jacket hits at just the right spot

Oooh, a Rachylou WIW! Very quirky waif--you look terrific! I love that you have just the right puffer for the dress.

Hooray for going out on the town again, and dressing up! Your style is so beautiful and whimsical at the same time. Those booties are great with the dress. Modern, hip and unique Alice in Wonderland.

OMG, really for ballet, beautiful and very appropriate. Lovely boots, very interesting dress and so gorgeous jacket. You look amazing!

Wowza! Au contraire  to Howard Stern and his decor, I can easily picture this outfit in a French provincial setting. I’m getting Marie Antoinette vibes ( in the best way possible) ….let’s have some cake!

  • Suz replied 2 years ago

WOW, this is amazing! French shepherdess meets punk rocker! I absolutely love this on you. The fringes on the jacket are just brilliant with your hair. What a great outfit.

This outfit feels very you, which I mean in the best way.

And wait - is that a puffy jacket you managed to find as a fuzzy jacket as well? Your puffy jacket finding skills are on point.

So fun and I love outfits that connect to an activity in some way. This is perfect.

  • BlueJay replied 2 years ago

Definitely ballet inspired! What fun! Is your dress seersucker? I love seersucker! So cute with the jacket and booties!

  • Jenni NZ replied 2 years ago

Oh Rachy you look amazing! Subtly pattern mixed, colours of jacket and boots perfectly matched… gorgeous. And you look really young!

I think you dressed to match the theme, isn't it! Crazy, indeed but in the meantime so well done and fab- aren't you a porcelaine doll here-am amazed!

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

KILLER with the jacket! Fashion forward fun :)

The booties match the jacket beautifully.

Rocker Punk Bo Peep with a hint of '70s FTW!

  • Bonnie replied 2 years ago

What a fun outfit. You could be one of the dolls in the show.

  • Jonesy replied 2 years ago

Fabulous! Ethereal and striking, just like the ballet!

  • JAileen replied 2 years ago

    Very pretty dress! Cool jacket!

I love it!  so appropriate for the setting but so original and well put together.  I wish you would do more WIW posts.

Wow! You look amazing. Very artistic. I bet you turned heads. (Nice puffer too!)

  • rachylou replied 2 years ago

I’m glad y’all enjoy the outfit :D The dress is seersucker and I had to laugh looking at the pictures and the puffer… because really I have a lot of them, for every occasion, and still I want more!

I was thinking I should try taking two hours to dress like when I was a teenager. Try for more coiffing… one day… :)

  • rachylou replied 2 years ago

And yes, Bo Peep, Alice in Wonderland and Marie Antoinette are my fashion idols … and Deborah Harry… hehe :)

  • slim cat replied 2 years ago

Very cool look - fabulous on you! Love that jacket!

  • Bijou replied 2 years ago

Amazing, you have the best style, this outfit is inspired! Whilst Bo Peep has never been high on my style references, Alice in Wonderland was a childhood hero and Debbie Harry a hero of my teens.

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 2 years ago

Did Debby Harry ever get so arch and ironic in her looks? I think of her as very straight-on: “Call me!” with serious punk looks to match.

  • Zaeobi replied 2 years ago

Yayy, dressing up for outdoor events - can't even remember what that feels like, lol! I like how you're wearing 'ballet' colours, but you add interest to it with the texture in your jacket & shoes :)

  • Runcarla replied 2 years ago

So good to be able to ‘go out’, isn’t it?  You look perfect for the ballet.

  • rachylou replied 2 years ago

It’s Deborah Harry’s RATE hair that identify with most :)

  • Style Fan replied 2 years ago

Fantastic!  I love Rachy's WIWs.  Deborah Harry meets Bo Peep.  The perfect outfit for the ballet.

I like how your hair goes with your collar! Beautiful ballet look.

    I have no words. Just.So.Fun.
